TEMPO.CO, Bogor - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) in Bogor Regency has declared a level 1 alert status after 10 drug convicts escaped from BNN prison in Cawang, East Jakarta, on Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
"We were asked to be watchful and declare alert level 1 status," said Chief of BNN Bogor Nugraha Setia Budhi on Tuesday. "We were instructed take actions and pursue [the escaped convicts]."
Those who escaped were Abdullah a.k.a Dulah, Hamdani Razali, Usman, Samsul Bahri, Hasan Basri, Erik Yustin, Hary Radiawan, Franky Gozali, Apip Apriansyah and M. Husen. "Five of them were convicted in the 78-kg-methamphetamine case in Aceh and five others are convicted for the 25-kg-methamphetamine case at San Diego Hill Cemetery, Karawang," said Budhi.
Erick Yustin, one of the convicts, was arrested on January 30, 2015, at Kemayoran for being involved in distributing 7.6 kilograms of methampetamine. Erick is an accomplice of Sylvester Obiekwe, prisoner at Nusakambangan prison who controls drug trafficking from inside the prison.
