TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bogor branch of the National Anti-narcotics Agency (BNN) has imposed the highest security alert on Bogor regency after 10 drug dealers managed to escape from their holding cells in BNN's headquarters in Cawang, East Jakarta, on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 03:30 Jakarta time.
"We have been ordered to remain vigilant, and as such we have placed Bogor regency under the highest security alert, which will allow us to jack up our security measures," the head of Bogor's BNN, Nugraha Setia Budhi, told Tempo in Cibinong, Bogor regency, on Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
"We have also been ordered to follow up on any credible leads, which could help us detain the escapees," he said.
The escaped convicts are Abdulah, Hamdani Razali, Usman, Samsul Bahri, Hasan Basri, Erik Yustin, Hary Radiawan, Franky Gozali, Apip Apriansyah, and M. Husen. "Five of them were detained in relation to the smuggling of 78 kilograms of crystal meth in Aceh, while some of the others were caught with 25 kilograms of crystal meth at San Diego Hills Cemetery in Karawang," said Budhi.
Bogor's BNN, said Budi, has been ordered to do whatever it takes to recapture the escapees, especially Erick Yustin, a 39-year-old resident of Griya Katulampa housing complex in Bogor city.
Erick was arrested on January 30, 2015 in Kemayoran with 7.6 kilograms of crystal meth. Erick is known to be associated with Sylvester Obiekwe, a drug dealer which is known to have managed to continue his trade from within his cell in Nusakambangan Prison.
