TEMPO.CO, Sidoarjo - Victims of the Sidoarjo mudflow disaster said that they have no idea on the diminishing reimbursement budget. "Our utmost concern so far is that they have lied to us for almost nine years," said Sulastri, one of the victims.
Sulastri, speaking on the behalf of the victims, said that they worry on the delayed reimbursement. The payment was supposed to be delivered earlier this year. However, Public Work and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, said that the realization will take place around April and May.
"If the money is available, why do we have to wait," Sulastri said. Sulastri also reminded that on May 29, the disaster will hit its nine year remark.
Previously, Minister Basuki said that the audit from the Financial and Development Supervision Board (BPKP) suggested that the reimbursement payment diminished to Rp 767 billion, from the previously agreed Rp 781 billion. Basuki said that the diminishing value was because technical issues such as identifying the legal aspects of the affected area and uncounted bonus.
