Japan to Relocate Investment to Indonesia, says Minister

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of Japanese companies have planned to relocate their investments to Indonesia after seeing Indonesia’s huge potential to develop further compared to other Asian countries, Industry Minister Saleh Husin said on Saturday, March 28, 2015.
“They said that their investments in China, Vietnam and other countries were not promising anymore. They are planning to relocate their investment to a number of countries, including Indonesia,” Saleh said in Bekasi, as reported by Antaranews.com on Saturday, March 28, 2015.
According to Saleh, the government will encourage the Japanese investors to do business in several industries, including the maritime industry.
“Japan has made investments in many sectors, particularly in manufacture, in addition to other sectors, including maritime,” Saleh added.
Therefore, the Industry Ministry called emphasized that Indonesia must welcome the Japanese investors by preparing facilities in to improve the country’s investment climate. This is in accordance to the target of national industry growth set at 6.3 percent to 6.8 percent in 2014.
“We would like to provide the best services to attract more investors,” Saleh said.
