Jakarta Issues 7,872 ID cards for Rusunawa Occupants

TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta Population and Civil Register Department (Dukcapil) issued thousands of identity cards for occupants of low-cost rental apartments (Rusunawa) in the capital. It aims to anticipate trafficking or ownership over leasing of Rusunawa.

Based on data of Dukcapil, during the service along with Jakarta Residence and Building Department throughout January-March 2015, as many as 7,872 Jakarta Citizens who occupied Rusunawa have mutated their ID card based on their domicile. In detail, North Jakarta ( 3,857 people), West Jakarta (2,547 people) and East Jakarta (1,738 people).

Head of Jakarta Population and Civil Register Department, Edison Sianturi stated, his side along with Jakarta Residence and Building Department have been conducting "jemput bola" service since January until March 2015. It was conducted in order to process administration of the apartment owner thus it match with occupants' identity.

"The occupants' rule accordance to contract agreement, ID card, bank account. Thus we hold the service simultaneously," said Sianturi, Friday.

According to him, before mutating their ID card, the residents firstly have to make an agreement contract  with Jakarta Residence and Building Department. Then they can mutate their ID card based on their domicile and ended by making Bank DKI account which is used to pay the rent. "Firstly, we're going to concentrate to the service first, afterwards we can conduct monitoring and raiding," he exclaimed.

Head of North Jakarta Population and Civil Register Sub-Department, Muhammad Hatta claimed, as many as 3.587 occupants in his area mutated their ID card which is spread in five locations such as Rusunawa Penjaringan 1.099 residents, Muara Baru 906 residents, Kapuk Muara 850 residents, Sukapura 94 residents, dan Rusunawa Marunda 698 residents.

"Based on Head's instruction, we will consistently help Jakarta Residence and Building Department. For the supervision, we will conduct the citizen order operation in Rusunawa throughout April until June," he disclosed.
