TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has approved four banks to launch a no-office service as part of the inclusive financing or Laku Pandai (Do Smart) program, starting today. These four banks are selected from 17 that applied for the permit. They are BRI, Bank Mandiri, BTPN and BCA, who are targeting to recruit 128,039 agents this year.
"In the next three years, I expect to have Laku Pandai agents in all parts of Indonesia," OJK board of commissioners' chief Muliaman D. Hadad said yesterday.
The no-office service is expected to support the inclusive financial programs by reaching customers who live far from bank offices. They will be able to transact simply by visiting the nearest Laku Pandai agent to where they reside.
