East Nusa Tenggara Starts Operating 5 New Ports

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The East Nusa Tenggara Transportation Department has officially started operating five ferry ports in the islands, to serve passengers and transport goods.
The five ports are Waijarang in Lembata regency; Deri in Adonara Island, East Flores regency; Menanga in Solor Island, East Flores regency; Hansisi in Semau Island, Kupang regency; and Ndaonese in Rote Ndao regency.
The East Nusa Tenggara Province is also building 73 piers to support Predient Joko Widodo's marine highway plan. The construction will be ndone in stages, and now there are currently 38 piers being built.
This year, the government will build 13 more piers, targeting to complete the construction of all 73 piers within five years.
