TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - I Gusti Nyoman Wiratmaja Puja, Acting Director General of Oil and Natural Gas at the Energy and Mineral Resource Ministry, admitted that closed distribution system of three-kilogram LPGs is a bit complicated. The system distinguish who can or cannot purchase three-kilogram LPGs.
"Who can buy and who cannot is difficult [to determine]. For now, anyone can purchase it at a same price," Wiratmaja said at the Vice Presidential Office on Wednesday, March 25, 2015.
Wiratmaja said that closed distribution system has been successful in India. "India used to be like [Indonesia]. People have to queue in a long line to purchase LPG. But once they used the subsidy scheme, they no longer have to queue," Wiratmadja added.
Wiratmadja said that trial phase of the closed distribution system will commence within next two months. "If the result is good, it will be implemented gradually," Wiratmaja said.
Three regions that will be included in the trial are Bali, Bangka and Batam.
