BKPM Signs MoU with JETRO

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) will collaborate with Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) during the state visit of President Joko Widodo to Japan.
BKPM chief Franky Sibarani said the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) is intended to improve the quality of Indonesia's investment potential promotion among Japanese investors, as well as facilitate the process of investment realizations between the two countries.
BKPM's data shows that from 2010 to 2014 Japan materialized US$12.10 billion worth of investment in Indonesia. During said years, Japan remained as Indonesia's top five investors.
In 2014, Japan was the second biggest investor, spending US$2.7 billion in Indonesia.
"We hope that our collaboration with JETRO can increase Japan's investment in Indonesia. The BKPM targeting Japanese investors' to actualize US$3.42 billion through their investment plans here this year," he said.
