TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Asad Said Ali, former Deputy Chairman of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), said that the terrorist network known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is now aiming to rule Asia in their long-term plan.
According to Asad, since it was founded in 2014, ISIS has continued to spread their influence in regions throughout Africa.
"Their target in the past two years was to conquer the Middle East, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, and West Africa, including Morocco,” Asad said in Jakarta, Sunday, 22 March 2015.
As for this year, he said ISIS is now targeting to conquer Asia, including South Asia, Central Asia, and South East Asia.
He also said that ISIS already had its supporters in Indonesia, such as those who are members of Jemaah Ansharut Daulah, which consist of several factions such as Jemaah Ansharut Tauhid led by Abu Bakar Baasyir.
