TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Although supporting the establishment of a caliphate country, Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) announced that it does not support the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
HTI spokesman Ismail Yusanto confirmed that HIT rejected ISIS declaration.
“We reject ISIS declaration” said Ismail when contacted on Sunday, March 22, 2015.
According to Ismail, ISIS that proclaimed caliphate does not have an authority towards both Syria and Iraq. He also said that ISIS cannot bring peace and security both at home and abroad.
He added that even a person who has been declared as the caliphate is not open to the public and remains hidden. Ismail said that the fact is opposed to what Prophet Muhammad once did.
Furthermore, he said that the accusation of the police saying that HTI is the supporter of ISIS was ‘baseless’. Therefore, he guaranteed that no member of HTI becomes ISIS militias and said that the organization will take a firm action against those who do so.
