TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After breaking up with Sony in 2014, Vaio is now diving into smartphone business by launching its very own smartphone. Running on Android Lollipop, Vaio’s smartphone is aimed to the middle-class users.
Vaio kept the name and logo on their 5-inch phone. At a glance, the new phone looks just like Motorola’s Moto G. It offers quad-core 1.2 gigahertz processor with 2-gigabyte RAM. The main camera comes with 13 megapixel resolution.
In marketing its new products, Vaio is teaming up with B-Mobile, a small cellular carrier in Japan. The device will be available on Japanese market starting from March, 20. With a price tag of US$420 or Rp5.5 million per device, Endgadget call it as “Not such an easy sell.”
