TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned PLN Java-Bali General Manager Bernadus Sudarmanta on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. Head of KPK News and Information Priharsa Nugraha, said that Bernadus will be examined for an alleged corruption related to the natural gas trade in Bangkalan, East Java.
"[Bernardus] will be examined as a witness for FAI [Fuad Amin Imron]," Priharsa said on Wednesday, March 18, 2015.
The investigation on FAI begins when the KPK apprehended Antonio Bambang Djatmiko, Director of PT Media Karya Sentosa and Rauf, Fuad's assistant, at Jalan Bangka in South Jakarta in early December 2014. KPK officials later discovered Rp 700 million of cash inside Rauf’s car.
After capturing Antonio and Rauf, KPK apprehended Fuad, Head of Bengkulu's Regional Representative Council (DPRD), in his house in Bangkalan. KPK investigators also seized Rp 4 billion in cash.
Fuad is believed to have accepted bribes from PT Media Karya Sentosa in return for helping the company to secure a contract on gas distribution from Pertamina Hulu Energy West Madura Offshore since 2007.
