TEMPO.CO, Bandung - A number of North Korean officials representing the Korean Republic People’s Party (RDRK) visited West Java Governor's office to discuss a possibility of economic cooperation.
"They want to find products to bring home," West Java Governor Ahmad "Aher" Heryawan said on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, after meeting the officials.
Aher said that the North Korean officials were interested in shoe, textile and rubber products. Aher added that they were planning to work with local industries in West Java. According to Aher, the visit was a follow up to a meeting held in West Java a few weeks earlier.
"This is good news for our exports," Aher said.
Ferry Sofwan Arief, the head of West Java Industry and Trade Agency, said that the officials were invited to visit a number of shoe factories and rubber plants in Bandung. They were also asked to observe rubber product manufacturing at PT Inkaba, a region-owned enterprise, and local shoe productions at Fortune and Tompkin.
