TEMPO.CO, Kupang - The Functional Group (Golkar) administrator at East Nusa Tenggara claimed that Aburizal "Ical" Bakrie's supporters have asked for police support in securing their assets, such as office buildings. The request came in light of the verdict from the Legal and Human Rights Minister, Yasonna Laoly, who declares Agung Laksono's Golkar as the winner in the party's leadership duality dispute.
"We have sent letter of request to the police to help secure Golkar's assets," said acting administrator of Golkar NTT, Nikson Mesakh. Nikson added that Ical's Golkar will defend the office in case the opposing side comes and intends to take the building by force.
On the other hand, Head of Public Relation Division of NTT Police, Senior Commissioner Agus Santosa, claimed that he has not received any letter related to the request. "It is possible that the letter [was deivered] to Kupang Police. We'll give it a check," said Agus.
