TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A Metro Mini 69 bus rammed four motorcycles at Kebayoran Lama flyover at 11:10am on Tuesday, leaving one victim unconscious and five others injured.
“The victim has been rushed to a hospital and is yet to know whether the victim is dead or not,” said Kebayoran Lama Police Precinct Chief Comm. Riftazudin.
According to Muhammad Ridwan, 25-year-old witness, said the driver of the Metro Mini bus drove carelessly, although traffic was crowded at the time. The bus crashed into four motorcycles in front of it.
The front-left window of the bus with license plate B-7698-AI was completely shattered. Even the license plate almost fell off. All of the four motorcycles was heavily damaged in the wheels and body.
The driver of the bus tried to flee the scene after crashing. Bikers who witnessed the getaway driver stopped and immediately chased the driver. “Now he’s been detained at South Jakarta Precinct,” Riftazudin said.
Due to the incident, traffic flow from Ciledug towards Simprug became congested because the flyover from Ciledug-Blok M was temporarily closed. “We could not yet confirm the punishment for the driver. We have to see the victims’ conditions first,” said Riftazudin.
