Two Indonesian Mixed-Doubles Left in All England Semi Final

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian mixed-double shuttlers Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto survived the tight battle against Denmark’s Mads Pieler Kolding/Kamila Rytter Juhl 20-22, 21-19, 21-14 on Friday night local time. Praveen/Jordan has secured a ticket to All England semi final despite of being unseeded.
“We don’t want to get loosen up because we have tougher opponent tomorrow. Hopefully we can play better,” said Debby to Tempo after the match.
Praveen/Debby is set to face first-seeded Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei from China who had defeated South Korea’s Ko Sung Hyun/Kim Ha Na 21-19-25-23.
Other Indonesian mixed-double Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana joined their compatriot at the semi after taking down England’s Chris Adcock/Gabrielle Adcock 21-14, 18-21, 21-19. They will face second-seeded Joachim Fischer Nielsen/Christinna Pedersen from Denmark tonight.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s other quarter-finalists Gideon Markus Fernaldi/Kevin Sanjaya (men’s double) and Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Greysia Polii (women’s double) have been ousted from the tournament.
