TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The ongoing squabble between Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama and the Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) over the 2015 Jakarta budget has sparked various reactions from tweeps, including satire tweets aimed at the council's deputy chairman Abraham Lunggana, or famously known as Lulung.
The tweets, followed with a hashtag #SaveHajiLulung, were used as scoffs instead of support for Lulung. The hashtag has become a trending topic in Indonesia and later spread to other cities, such as Bandung, Surabaya and Makassar.
A netizen named Vicky Gilang tweeted, “If Haji Lulung goes to a men’s room, instead of paying the attendant, he will be paid by the attendant #SaveHajiLulung.”
“If Haji Lulung becomes a pilgrim [in Mecca], the Kabah will circle him #SaveHajiLulung,” @PapaGalotte said. “If Haji Lulung becomes a new student, he’s the one who hazes his seniors. #SaveHajiLulung.”
“If Lulung gets a red card in a football match, the referee will be kicked out from the field. #SaveHajiLulung,” @aditd90s tweeted.
