TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - CEO of Intel Corporation, Brian Krzanich, has announced new system-on-chips (SoC) for phone and tablet at the Mobile Word Congress, Barcelona, Spain, Monday, March 2. SoC Intel Atom X3 (previously named "Sofia") is the first integrated communication platform from Intel to growing smartphones.
The integration allows producers to offer full-feature smartphone at affordable price. Krzanich said in a press release that Intel Atom multi-core 64 bit is equipped with LTE 3G or 4G connectivity, as well as other features in single system chipset.
As for performance matter, Intel introduced its first 14nm SoC Intel Atom x5 and x7 (officially named as "Cherry Trail"). Intel Atom x5 and x7 are set to support a number of mainstream and limited premium devices. Several vendors such as Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Toshiba have expressed their commitment to offer device in this platform, in which the first product can be expected in the first semester of 2015.
