TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A bomb threat was made to Sparks Hotel in Taman Sari, West Jakarta, along with the demand of money.
Director of Common Criminal Detective of the Metro Jaya Police Sr.Comm. Heru Pranoto said that the suspect R, 25-year-old, claims to be a commander of an Islamic terrorist enforcement, made a call to Sparks Hotel saying that several bombs were planted in the hotel and could explode at any time.
“The suspect then demanded Rp40 million in cash. The temporary motive is money or economy,” Heru said in his office on Monday, Mar. 2.
To the police, R claimed that he obtained the hotel’s phone number from television. “We are investigating its authenticity,” said Heru.
Suspect R was arrested at Tanah Jambo Aye, North Aceh, last Saturday at 11:30pm. “We depart to Aceh Saturday morning for having the suspect’s identification from a phone trace,” he said.
R is charged with multiple articles including Article 335 of the Criminal Law on unpleasant behaviour juncto Article 336 on treathening. “The suspect have been placed under Crime and Violent custody of Metro Jaya Police,” Heru said.
