TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Coordinating Minister of Economy and Trans Corp boss, Chairul Tanjung, congratulated Surabaya Mayor, Tri Rismaharini, over receiving Doctor Honoris Causa award by Technology Institute of Sepuluh Nopember, Surabaya, on Wednesday, March 4, 2015.
"Risma deserves the honoris causa title as she has served the city of Surabaya with remarkable achievements," he said.
Risma earned the honorable title of urban development management. She then delivered a speech of "Green City in Innovation and Human Dimension".
Chairul said that it is time for Indonesia to follow international recognition over Risma. "This sets as an example. If the world can praise her as the third best mayor on Earth, Indonesia can praise her better," he said.
Moreover, Chairul expected that the title can help Risma achieve more milestones, creating greater impacts for the city. "Of course I wish she continues he role as Surabaya Mayor," he said.
