Schumacher's Son Gets Formula 4 Deal

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Michael Schumacher's 15-year-old son has signed a contract to drive in Formula 4, a series for young talents.

Mick Schumacher, second in the German kart championship last season, will drive for Van Amersfoort Racing.

"We have watched his skills in test driving and are looking forward to a successful season," said the Dutch team's owner, Frits van Amersfoort, as quoted by BBC Sport.

Michael Schumacher is continuing his rehabilitation following a serious skiing accident in December 2013.

Schumacher snr, who spent nine months in hospital after suffering life-threatening head injuries in the accident, is the most successful driver in Formula 1 history with seven titles.

His son begins his Formula 4 career when the season gets under way in Germany on 25 April.
