TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded a 0.36 percent deflation in February 2015. Thus, the annual inflation in February was 6.29 percent with a core inflation of 0.34 percent.

Sasmito Hadi Wibowo, BPS deputy of distribution and services, said that last month's deflation was the highest deflation in the last 30 years after February 1985's 0.5 percent.

For March, the BPS expects inflation as has raised the price of subsidized gasoline from Rp 6,600 to Rp6,800 per liter. In addition, the price 12-kilogram cylinder LPG has been adjusted.

"But there is also a potential for deflation since we are entering harvest season in March," he said.
