TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - House of Representatives (DPR) deputy chairman Agus Hermanto, said that the DPR will discuss technical regulations regarding the establishment of the 'aspiration house' program after the recess period, which will end on March 23, 2015. "We will decide the implementation mechanisms," said Agus in Tuesday.
According to Agus, one of the issue that will discussed is the operation mechanism of the 'aspiration house'. There are currently two notions; every DPR member manages the aspiration house individually or, the house will be managed by several parliament members in every constituency.
The DPR will also discuss mechanism to follow-up aspirations gathered from each aspiration house. Previously, there were concerns raised by several DPR members that the aspiration house would only become a place for proposals from people asking for additional funds for their programs. "We will formulate the follow-up mechanism for every proposal submitted," said Agus.
Aspiration house is a new program planned in the 2015 State Budget, which has been approved on February 2015. The allocated budget for the program was set at Rp 1.6 trillion
Muhidin Muhammad, Chairman of the Central Executive Board the Functional Group Party, said that the aspiration house program may backfire because DPR members will find it difficult to follow up on the aspirations delivered by the people. "There is no regulation yet on what to do to those aspirations," said Muhidin.
