TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Roger Federer knocked down the World No. 1 Novak Djokovic 6-3, 7-5 to defend his seventh Dubai Duty Free Championship title in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Saturday night, February 28.
Federer, currently ranked second, has appeared in 126 final matches of ATP’s tournaments. The 33-year-old Swiss challenged the Serb with his stunning services. Federer needed five more aces to become just the fourth player since 1991 to serve 9,000 career aces. He served 12 in the final.
"I think it's really become a very nice rivalry," said Federer to ATP.
"I think we play very nicely against each other, and it seems people like the way we play against each other, as well. I don't think we have to adjust our games very much against each other, which I think is nice, as well. We can just play our game, and then the better man wins.
Federer continue leading in the encounter with Djokovic by winning 20 out of 37 in total. Dubai final was their fourth encounter and Federer led with 3-1.
