TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Thierry Henry revealed he still hold desire to return to his former club Arsenal. Henry, who defend The Gunners from 1999 to 2007 he could not say no if offered manager role at Arsenal.
"I don't know what Arsene wants to do and how long he wants to stay," he said in a TV interview as quoted by Mirror.co.uk.
"But I just want to be equipped [...] to be in the position, maybe one day to be a manager.”
Henry is Arsenal’s all time leading goalscorer and considered as manager Arsene Wenger’s greatest ever signing. Henry was part of The Invincible Arsenal - a nickname dubbed for Arsenal when they were unbeatable during 2003-2004 season.
"Being the manager of Arsenal FC would be a dream. I need to learn first. That is the most important thing."
"I could not say 'no' to Arsenal," he said. "So I would say 'yes'. It should be great."
Mirror Football reported that Henry has been given opportunity to coach Arsenal’s youth academy where he found differences between being a player and a coach.
"When I was playing I was a pain the neck as I was demanding of myself and of others.”
"When you are coaching you can't scream and shout. You don't want to scare your players.”
