TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Attorney General M. Prasetyo said that he is ready to follow up the corruption case charged against Commissioner General Budi Gunawan. "If we are trusted with handling BG case, we must be willing to take [the responsibility]," said Prasetyo.
Earlier today, Prasetyo and some other officials paid a visit to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) office to take BG's case files from KPK investigators.
Handing over Budi Gunawan's case to the Attorney General Office is believed to be one of several alternatives after the KPK has been considered failed to make significant progress.
KPK itself has met a couple of fierce resistance while handling the case, including when KPK Chief Abraham Samad and Commissioner Bambang Widjojanto were named as suspects in two different cases.
