TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) finally handed over Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan's investigation to the Attorney General Office, based on Judge Sarpin Rizaldi's verdict in Budi Gunawan's pretrial lawsuit.
"The Attorney General Office will study the file and follow up the investigation," Attorney General Muhammad Prasetyo said at KPK building on Monday, March 2, 2015.
Prasetyo added that the investigation must be swift and cost-effective.
"We think that forwarding [Budi Gunawan's dossiers] to the National Police [Polri] would be more effective," Prasetyo explained.
National Police Deputy Chief Comr. Gen. Badrodin Haiti said that his institution would initially check the completeness of the dossiers, including the evidence.
"What about the evidence? We have to determine [whether] they meet investigation requirements. Will they be enough to leverage the investigation? When it comes to investigation, it could lead to a the termination of the investigation [SP3]," Badrodin said.
