Gemstone Festival in Bandung

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The coordinator of Gemstone Festival, Novice Elryan Nessy is bringing the gemstone fever to Bandung by holding the festival starting from March 1 to 4. To win in the festival, participants should get most points in eight assesment categories.

The gemstones will be assessed for its beauty (level of clarity), color contrast, natural character, quality of the stone processing, the congeniality between the stone and the ring, defects, and valid certification.

Elryan further said there will be five judges consisting of gemstone experts including gemologist Sujatmiko, lecturer of Art and Design at Bandung Institute of Technology Alfonzo R. Kopaha, and a representative of Geology Museum.

First-place winners of each of the seven stone categories will bag Rp3 million cahs and will be announced on the last day of the festival, which is on March 5. Registration for the festival has been opened starting from three days ago.
