TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, said that the government is on the process of designing Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) or micro loans scheme for housing ownership financing for informal workers that are not covered in banking services.

"The idea came out because under the minimum wage, there are still clusters such as taxi drivers that don't have bankable salary to obtain credit,” said Basuki on Thursday, February 26, 2015.

According to Basuki, the scheme will help low-income people to own decent homes through government financing.

"We use the KUR concept for housing, so that [low-income people] can be [included] in the program," he said, adding that the price offered for the house ranges between Rp 120 to Rp 130 million per unit.
