TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Trade Ministry is targeting to triple the growth in exports over the next five years. To that end, they are intensifying cooperation with foreign institutions, one of them with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Nus Nuzulia Ishak, director general of national export development (PEN), said the PEN and JICA are conducting service improvement projects that cover five working groups: organizational reform, market information, export promotion, product development, and network/alliance enhancement.
Through the partnership, Nus hopes Indonesia can increase export activities in accordance with the target.
"Increased export is expected to be the growth engine of the national economy," he said during a seminar on the development of national exports, Wednesday, February 25, at the Ministry.
The seminar is aimed at presenting the results of cooperation between PEN and JICA since May 2010 to May 2015.
