TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Police personnel have confiscated 6.3 kilograms of crystal meth and 45,000 Erimin-5 pills, also known by its street name Happy Five, smuggled from China.

"Our team conducted a raid on February 14, 2015 on a rented room in Kebon Nanas, East Jakarta and confiscated 6.3 kilograms of crystal meth and 45,000 happy five pills," said the Jakarta Police's anti-narcotics division chief, Sr. Comr. Eko Daniyanto, at the Jakarta Police headquarters on Tuesday.

The Jakarta Police received a tip-off from several sources that a house on Jl. Kebon Nanas Selatan I No. 16 in Cipinang Cempedak was often used by scores of unidentified visitors to abuse and acquire drugs.

The team then approached the location and conducted a surveillance of the location since 16.00, after which they moved in to arrest two suspects identified by their initials as MSH bin S and YZ bin HSN.

"Authorities found 0.5 kilograms of crystal meth among the possession of the suspects, as well as smoking paraphernalia," said Eko. After further interrogations, police found more illicit drugs hidden in their rented room.

Both suspects confessed that they managed to acquire the drugs from a major dealer who went by the alias "Bradess", a citizen of the People's Republic of China, who was now wanted by the police.

As a result of their arrests, both suspects face possible lifetime behind bars or death penalty.
