Lake Matano Festival to be South Sulawesi's Cultural Attraction

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An international event Lake Matano Festival is set to be held in East Luwu, South Sulawesi in May by the province’s Culture and Tourism Agency. Head of South Sulawesi Disbudpar Jufri Rahman said the festival will be the new icon in the annual events to attract tourists, especially foreigners.
“At the Lake Matano Festival, other than offering the nature beauty of East Luwu Lake Matano and nickel smelter, there will also be competitions such as running, cycling and swimming competitions to accommodate specific hobbies of the tourists,” Jufri said on Thursday, February 19.
In addition to Lake Matano Festival, Jufri continued, there will be many events set to be held in South Sulawesi including Taka Bonerate Festival in Selayar, Lovely Desember in Tana Toraja, and Full Moon Festival in Karst Rammang Maros and Takalar.
