TEMPO.CO, Makassar – The West and South Sulawesi Police say they have slapped Feriyani Lim, the prime suspect in a case of alleged falsification of civil registration documents that also implicated Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Abraham Samad, with a travel ban.
“We have issued a travel ban on the prime suspect, who is now in Jakarta. As for AS (Abraham Samad), we have yet to issue a travel ban on him. We will see how things pan out after this,” said South and West Sulawesi Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Endi Sutendi on Tuesday, February 17, 2015.
Endi said his office had coordinated with the immigration authorities to keep Feriyani from travelling overseas to escape the case.
“We ban her from travelling abroad so that the investigation can be completed immediately,” he said.
The South and West Sulawesi Police named Abraham Samad a suspect on Monday, February 9, 2015, but did not announce his status until Tuesday, February 17, 2015—a day after the South Jakarta District Court granted the lawsuit lodged by National Police chief candidate Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan in a pretrial hearing.
