TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ford and Nissan is recalling hundred thousands of their vehicle due to various defects.
Autonews reported Nissan is recalling its crossover Nissan Rogue and SUV Nissan Pathfinder. As many as 552,135 Nissan Rogue made in 2008 and 2013 are recalled because the textile material covering the cabin floors can trigger short circuit and fire. And 215,789 units of Pathfinder made in 2013 and 2014 are recalled due to problem on the engine’s secondary hood latch.
Ford said it is recalling about 221,000 cars and vans for door handle and seat belt problems. The company is recalling 204,945 sedans in North America -- the 2010-13 Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS and Police Interceptor -- for an issue with the spring that controls the interior door handles.
A second recall covers 16,091 2014 Ford Transit Connect vans in the U.S. in which seat belt fasteners might not have been tightened properly. If the fasteners did not meet initial torque specifications, they could loosen over time and fail to function as intended, increasing injury risk, Ford said.
Vehicles’ owners can have the defected parts replaced for free of charge until April.
