TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is drafting a rule on sustainable finance as part of its sustainable finance roadmap. OJK deputy commissioner for bank supervision, Mulya E. Siregar, said for the initial stage the regulator will ask the opinions of related institutions regarding financial definitions and concepts that can be applied in Indonesia, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.
In addition to the roadmap—launched in December 2014, Mulya says the regulator is also drafting a guide on sustainable finance for energy conservation, the studies on green bond and bond index. OJK is also drafting the guidance for green product assessment for the insurance and finance sectors.
The OJK hopes the drafts will meet the roadmap's strategic objectives, with the main purpose of increasing the supply of eco-friendly funds.
