TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Microsoft is opening the first selection stage of its annual student tech competition Imagine Cup until February 28. There are three categories available for submission namely Games, Innovation, and World Citizenship.
The first-stage submission requires participant to send description of their projects in 10-minute video format by sending the URL to Imagine Cup website. The judges will then select five to eight best videos from each category.
On March 14, the selected participants will be invited to present their work in front of the judges who will pick three teams from each category for final battle.
“Imagine Cup is aimed to develop talented youngsters into a digital entrepreneur,” said Developer Experience Director of Microsoft Indonesia Anthonius Henricus in a press release received by Tempo on Thursday, January 29.
In holding the Imagine Cup, Microsoft is working together with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) particularly for the World Citizenship category. PT Telkom is also engaged as a partner for the event.
PT Telkom supports the competition by providing service called the Indihome Fiber that is claimed to be able to give up to 100 megabyte per second (Mbps) data speed.
“Indihome Fiber offers triple play service to speed up downloads and streaming for the participants of the competition,” said Jemy Confido the Vice President Consumer Marketing and Sales of PT Telkom.
The best team for Innovation and Games categories will be eligible for Rp50 million money prize while the winner of World Citizenship category can bring home Rp100 million.
