TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Football Association (FA) has charged Diego Costa for violent conduct after an alleged stamp following the Capital One Cup semi-final with Liverpool on Tuesday, January 27.
The Chelsea striker faces a three-match ban for his challenge on defender Emre Can during the 1-0 victory, therefore possibly missing Saturday's league match with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
"It's his character. It's the way he plays. He's a handful for a defender,” said Chelsea defender Gary Cahill, defending Costa.
"Would you change him? Probably not, and I don't think you should. Certainly as a team-mate, he's somebody you want in your team."
Costa has proven to be a superb summer signing for Chelsea, as the striker has scored 17 goals in the Premier League. However, Costa’s playing style has cost him the title of rough striker, collecting so far 10 yellow cards this season.
