TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has managed to reveal a meth distribution ring operating from inside the Nusakambangan Penitentiary. "It was under the command of Sylvester Obiekwe Nwolise a.k.a. Mustopa," said BNN Chief Commissioner General Anang Iskandar.
Anang later explained that Mustopa is a Nigerian sentenced to death by the Tangerang Court on September 11, 2004. He was caught in possession of 1.2 kilograms of heroine capsules.
BNN also seized 7.6 kilograms of meth, worth Rp 15.5 billion from Mustopa's distribution ring. The meth was seized from a courier named Agus Ervianti a.ka. Devi, in a hotel parking lot in Jakarta.
The meth is known to be originated from Guangzhou, China, encased in 56 black plastic bag to avoid airport detection. Anang later said that Mustopa may have connection with Wong Ching Ping, a Hong Kong citizen that was caught for carrying 862 kilograms of meth from Guangzhou, China.
