TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Special Criminal Division of the Metro Jaya Police Department raided a hazardous waste storage facility and managed to find 3.6 tons of used oil. The facility belongs to a person by the initial of NS and have operated since March 2014.
Sr. Comm. Adi Vivid, Chief of the Environmental Sub-directorate of the Metro Jaya Police Department, said that raid was based on a report.
The facility, which is located at a warehouse complex in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, lacks the proper documents such as SIUP (business license), TDP (company registration certificate) and environmental impact assessment.
"[The facility] is suspected to have violated the environmental law," Adi said. Meanwhile, NS, will be charged for violating Article 102 in conjuction with Article 59 Paragraph 4, or Article 109 in conjuction with Article 26 Paragraph 1 of Law No. 32/2009 on Environmental Protection and Management. "[NS] can be subject to three years in jail," he added.
