2014 Investment Reaches Rp463.1tn

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The value of investment in Indonesia during 2014 reached Rp463.1 trillion, exceeding the Rp456.6-trillion target set by the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), and outperforming 2013's Rp398.6 trillion total.
The biggest investment contribution came from foreign investors with a value of Rp307 trillion, while locals invested Rp156.1 trillion. Over the past year, there were 470,000 new workers absorbed as a result of investments.
BKPM chief Franky Sibarani said foreign dominated the mining sector, contributing US$4.6 billion in 552 project investments. Singaporean investors gave the most contribution with an investment of US$5.8 billion, accounting for 20.4 percent of the total foreign investment value.
"In 2015, we are targeting an investment growth of 14 percent to Rp519.5 trillion, with Rp343.7 trillion coming from foreign investment and Rp175.8 trillion domestic," he said.
