TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Rookie tennis player Madison Keys has managed to defeat one of the Williams sister in the Australian Open on Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Keys overcomed her left thigh injury to beat the number the world's number 18 tennis player Venus Williams by 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, and managed to advance to the top-four stage against top-ranked and 18-time major winner Serena Williams.
Keys has been presented with a rare opportunity to face the Williams sister back to back. Back in 2009, it was Kim Clijsters who was able to defeat the two Williams in a single tournament.
"It's amazing; you just have to embrace the moment," said Keys, currently coached by three-time major winner Lindsay Davenport. "And I get to enjoy another moment next round."
The young player, claiming to be a big fans of Williams sister, began joining professional tennis in 2009. Currently, Keys has managed to collect 128 wins and 80 losses, with one WTA and 3 ITF titles.
