TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said the National Police Criminal Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim) will summon the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) deputy chief Bambang Widjojanto for questioning this week. However, police could not yet confirm the exact date for the questioning.

“We could summon [Bambang] this week, or in early February at the latest,” Rikwanto told Journalists at National Police headquarter, South Jakarta, on Tuesday, January 27, 2015.

Earlier on Friday last week, Bambang was arrested before he was later released on Saturday morning. Police named Bambang as a suspect for allegedly instructing witnesses to give a false testimony in West Kotawaringin election conflict trialed at the Constitutional Court back in 2010. Bambang is currently facing seven years in prison.

Rikwanto revealed that the National Police is currently completing Bambang’s case file. When there are enough evidences to convict Bambang, Police will immediately transfer the case to the General Attorney.

Earlier on Monday, January 26, 2016, Bambang submitted his resignation letter to other three KPK leaders: Abraham Samad, Adnan Pandu Praja and Zulkarnain. However the KPK leaders rejected Bambang’s resignation.
