AirAsia Provides Rp300mn Aid for Family of Victims

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - CEO of AirAsia Indonesia, Sunu Widyatmoko, claimed that the Airlines have provided Rp300 million aid for the family of AirAsia QZ8501 victims. The fund will be delivered to the victim’s heirs, while awaiting for insurance claim of Rp1.25 billion.
Sunu said that the heirs need a longer time to deal with the insurance claim, they need to enclose various letters. On the other hand, the Rp 300 aid is a part of the full compensation based on government’s policy.
Previously, the Financial Service Authority (OJK) stated that each passenger of QZ8501 deserve a maximum compensation of Rp1.25 billion, given to their respective heir. Currently, OJK, AirAsia, and Surabaya administration are processing the compensation fulfillment.
