TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Consumer Foundation (YLKI) released a list of five airlines that received most complaints from consumers. Lion Air was on the top of the list.
YLKI executive chairman Sudaryatmo said on Sunday, January 25, 2015, that Lion Air received 24 out of 61 complaints in 2014. Sudaryatmo revealed the complaints centered on ticket refund, flight delay and luggage security.
According to Sudaryatmo, the issues have been persisting since the government put far lighter sanctions compared to those in the United States. Sudaryatmo said a petty violation in the United States could cause a heavy sanction.
“Improving services from airlines would take force and reform at the regulator,” he said.
In 2014, the YLKI received a total of 1,192 complaints, which 84 of them were related to transportation. The following is the list of airlines with highest number of complaints.
- Lion Air: 24 complaints
- Mandala Air: 6 complaints
- Indonesia AirAsia: 6 complaints
- Garuda Indonesia: 5 complaints
- Sriwijaya Air: 5 complaints.
