TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s cabinet secretary Andi Widjajanto said that the Palace has not decided any actions yet over Bambang Widjojanto’s resignation as the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) deputy chief. According to Andi, the President will decide to take a course of actions after receiving Bambang’s official resignation letter.
“We have neither received any notifications yet from the National Police regarding Bambang’s status, nor from the KPK chief about his resignation,” Andi said at the State Palace on Monday, January 26, 2015.
Andi revealed that after consulting six figures over the KPK-Polri conflict on Sunday, January 25, 2015, the President instructed several ministries to discuss the issue further.
“The results of the discussion will be reported to the President tomorrow,” Andi said.
The six figures, mentioned by Andi, were former National Police Chief Oegroseno, former KPK leaders Tumpak Hatorangan Pangabean and Erry Riyana Hardjapamekas, police expert Bambang Widodo Umar, international law professor from University of Indonesia Hikmawanto Juwana, and former Constitutional Court chief Jimly Asshiddiqie. The six people, along with former PP Muhammadiyah chairman Syafii Maarif, will be included in an independent team to address the conflict.
Andi could not confirm yet whether the President will issue a decree on the team.
“If the team was to be formed, there had to be a legal basis. Currently, no decisions yet have been made about the legal basis. We’re still waiting for the discussion results tomorrow,” he said.
