Survey Shows Hatta Rajasa Most Favored to be PAN Chairman

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) conducted a survey to pool public’s opinion about political leader regeneration. LSI executive director Kuskridho Ambardi said that 35.6 percent of respondents wanted Hatta Rajasa to lead the National Mandate Party (PAN).
“Hatta Rajasa has been the most favorite candidate to lead PAN for the next five years,” Kuskridho said on Sunday, January 25, 2015.
Following Hatta was Amin Rais with 17.6 percent of votes and Bogor Mayor Bima Arya with 3.5 percent. Meanwhile, Zulkifly Hasan managed to gained fourth position with 3.2 percent, followed by Drajad Wibowo and Taufik Kurniawan with 2.6 percent and 1.4 percent, respectively.
Amin Rais’s first son Hanafi Rais was also mentioned in the survey, supported by 0.8 percent of the respondents. The rest 35.3 percent of the respondents had abstained.
A total of 1,220 respondents participated in the survey conducted from January 10 to 18, 2015. The survey employed interview method conducted in various regions across Indonesia.
