TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Provincial Government's plan to normalize the Ciliwung River will affect the settlements around the riverbank, Antara News reported.
To realize the flood handling plan in capital, city will demolish 247 houses that spread around 3 RWs at Bukit Duri Urban Village, Tebet Sub-District, South Jakarta.
Jakarta Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidajat admitted that his side is still collecting the data of the citizens that affected by the project.
"The mayor still collects the data, the amount probably raise up ," said Djarot, while blusukan to Bukit Duri Urban Village.
He promised to restore the Ciliwung River as in the beginning to reduce the flood effect around the area. Previously, Ciliwung River width ever reached 50 meter and 20 meters in depth. But, because occupied by the citizens, the river's width now reduced to 20 meter, and makes the river often overflow.
Head of Bukit Duri Urban Village, Mardi Youce said, his side has held socialization about the Ciliwung River normalization plan to the citizens. Moreover, the citizens are waiting the physical construction now. "We have socialized to citizens and continue to collect the data. The citizens also wait the project to be realized because they have boring to become flood victims," he said.
Now, Youce continued, the data of land ownership are still collected by National Land Agency (BPN). "For citizen's land ownership or the document that owned by the citizens are still collected by BPN. We also do not know where the citizens will be relocated," he said.
