TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Administrative Law expert from Andalas University Saldi Isra, urged President Joko Widodo to immediately instruct the National Police to issue a Letter of Order to Stop Investigations (SP3) to ceased the investigation towards the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) Deputy Chief Bambang Widjojanto.
He said that such a measure was once made by former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono when KPK handled the graft case of driving license simulator with Inspector General Djoko Susilo as the suspect.
According to Saldi, stopping the investigation of Bambang’s case at the police was merely for the interests of eradicating corruption.
"Bambang has been released from detainment but in the KPK context, it doesn’t have a legal force yet. Bambang can work normally if the SP3 letter is immediately issued. For the sake of the efforts to combat corruption, that’s an important point,” Saldi said at KPK building, Saturday, January 24, 2015.
Saldi also urged President Joko Widodo to instruct the police to stop attempts to criminalize KPK with such an ungraceful way.
