TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Police had finally decided to release the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) Deputy Chief Bambang Widjojanto after he was arrested while taking his son to school in Depok on Friday morning.
Bambang came out from the Police's interrogation room at 01:20am, Saturday, January 24th 2015.
In front of the press, he said that he was grateful to God and also thanked his supporters.
"I thanked KPK and all of my supporters for always supporting me, I also want to thank the Police for finishing the interogation process tonight," said Bambang.
Bambang explained that he was free to go after he had undergone all of the interrogation process. He then left the Police Headquarter at 01:40am. Bambang went straight to KPK office with his lawyers, supporters, and colleagues.
Previously, Bambang was arrested because he was named as a suspect of a false report allegation that was related with the Local Election of West Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan, in 2010. Back then, Bambang served as the legal consultant of incumbent regent, Ujang Iskandar.
